Photos, the Site, and the Future

Site Improvements

Over the weekend, I began to think about my photographic journey. I use Flickr today because it’s a great place to both find inspiration and to share my works. I’ve posted many photos to Flickr as I’ve learned and tried new things. Fortunately and unfortunately, it contains some of my best works, but it also contains many of my worst works.

I decided that it was time to build a portfolio, and that I would use EricReplied as its front. More than just a pool of photos, though, I wanted to share the story behind each of the photos that I took.

I will admit that EricReplied, like Flickr, may contain more than my “best works” and this is because the art is subjective. There will be things that I really like that I’m sure aren’t popular, and vice versa, there will be photos I take that I don’t care for that really get a lot of viewership. I want to use EricReplied to share both sides.

On the topic of the future, I’ve often told people, “I’d love to do photography for a living”.

Truth be told, I think I already do photography for a living. It’s not about the money, for me. It’s about the joy I can bring to both myself and to others through the moments I capture. I hope that my revamped website will allow me to better inspire you through photography.

Cheers.
