Evolution of Eric Replied

BlogMe

I frequently find myself trying to figure out what I want to do with Eric Replied. I’ve had the domain itself for over ten years now. It’s actually hard to believe. I bought this domain and hosted it on BlueHost back in 2001 or so. The original intent of this website was to be a companion blog to a friend’s website (at the time: Obotsaid.com). It’s been ages since I’ve been in contact with Obot, but the domain has since lived on.

For periods of time, it was the progress page for my MMORPG adventures.

For other periods of time, it was strictly a personal web hosting server.

Most recently, it’s become home to my photographic endeavors. The trouble with posting all of my images alone to Flickr is that it’s hard to have a place to point people to for a cross section of my “favorite” (I won’t say best) work. I think the concept of “best” is subjective, anyway.

The desire to host an actual site for my photography was spurred on by a conversation I had on the street of Royal Oak, MI just yesterday (September 21, 2013). A gentleman noticed that I had my camera on my side, like I often do. He asked if I had a card to which I responded, “I don’t have one with me”. Fortunately, my wife happened to carry one in her purse and provided it to him. This seems cool except for one glaring issue: my card points to this site which really has/had none of my photos (at the time of this writing).

As I’ve begun to take on more and more projects, it’s become increasingly apparent that I need to have a face to my photography.
