While I don’t have the personal rating yet to purchase my weapon, the question has been asked many times. Mace or Sword … I’ve had this debate with myself many times and I’ve been pretty divided on my choices.
Swords:
+ Rocks Burst Damage (Hamstring Proc. Go!)
+ Style Points for Sword (lol big sword gogogo)
+ Procs off anything.
+ “Extra Attack” generates more rage which converts into more damage sooner.
- The Proc only speeds up your next attack to be the current attack. (Resets auto-swing)
- No CC Capability
- You have to be facing your target for it to proc.
- It will not proc on collateral targets (no WW procs on side targets).
Mace:
+ Three second stun
+ Style points for Spinning Mace (ohhh, eye candy)
+ Procs off anyone. (Collateral Damage! Take that!)
+ 9% Chance for Stun
+ You get 7 rage for every proc.
+ Stun guarantees that I don’t miss attacks.
- Can cause other Warriors to gain Second Wind (nooo, don’t heal him!)
- Doesn’t actually increase my damage.
- Damage is not bursty.
Tough call … still. I’m leaning towards the Mace. The next step is redoing my talent spec.

Mace has less negative signs beside it info so I’m going with that.

Axema - Yeah, it has less negatives next to it, but these pros and cons aren’t weighted linearly. They can be good or bad to varying degrees! Rage generation for sword is crazy when you get the proc. On the flip side, when you don’t get the proc, it doesn’t feel that special. 5% is not an awful lot.
Ryan - It procs off any damage dealt by the sword. Hamstrings and Windfury procs included. At least this is how I understand it. They did nerf something awhile ago though where you couldn’t have it proc off itself. (So no Sword Spec. procs Sword Spec.)

Synii - If you played Eredar, you would have known that neither MB or Eye for an Eye have sold Vortexes openly in months! You’re so Months Behind. No use in paying for a Stunherald at this point anyways.

s3 mace is better than stormherald due to better pvp stats and marginal top end dmg difference.
Sword rage is mostly offset by mace having a higher proc rate and the extra dmg from sword is outweighed by stunning a target in los of casting dps/mana drains, imo.

Meh… Stormherald and s3 mace are pretty close, it’s basically a second chance to proc stun or slightly higher stats. It’s certainly not worth it to pay to get a Stormherald made if you don’t already have one.
Both sword/mace look sexy on an Orc, so just close your eyes and pick one at random, and dont’ accidently click on polearm.

I did the dressing room stuff a few weeks ago and the colors of the mace even match the full s3 set! Sounds like Kalgan wanted his warrior to match!
