New Spec. New Strategy.

“The PvP spec.” Mace has been the only spec. that I’ve never tried in my WoW Warrior career. What better time to try it out then at the turn of a season when we’re trying to get our bearings and try new strategies. Warriors around (somewhat) agree that Mace shines the most in 2v2 and 3v3. The question is: Does it shine in 5s? Well, we’re going to find out this season.

I’m taking my Deep Thunder and doing a preliminary run in BGs and some arenas this week to see if purchasing the S3 Mace would even be worth it or if going back to Swords this season will be a better option (Hello, Jin’Rokh 2.0). My focus is going to be mostly on 3v3, but I do plan on running 5s with Mace also. As far as I’m concerned, the gain of an almost on-demand stun is incredible.

In case you’re wondering what spec. I’ll be rocking with my mace, I’ve provided that down below also.

36/23/2:  It’s an interesting blend of CC and DPS, but it ends up being very close to alot of other Mace Spec’d Warriors.  Where I go different is that I go for two in Blood Frenzy, two in Tactical Mastery, and all three into Improved Hamstring.  I went for five in Unbridled Wrath to aid my slower rage-generation (It procs quite often, and when it procs on a hamstring, it’s like having a buy six, get one free discount).

I could go on and on about the benefits and disadvantages of this spec., but this is a test spec. for that very reason.  I’m testing its viability in our 3v3 slots.  I always felt that the one thing my 3v3 needed was a CC factor.  Running double healer makes it difficult to actually control the flow of the fight.  I’m hoping that the combination of Hamstrings and stuns will aid in some tighter matches.

Look out Vindication, I’m just another Bad Orc with another Bad Weapon!  1700, here I come!

I considered it, but I decided to go without for now until I get S3 weapon and I’ll re-evaluate whether it is worth it or not.

The trouble I always felt with PH is that I have a tendency to just use it for no reason.

most warriors will be going for the mace for the sole reason of playing 2’s and 3’s with healers, +well timed mace stuns(lol) are the most redic thing in this game.

not to sure about 5’s as how ive never played a warrior in 5’s over 2k.

looks pretty nice. i’m gonna end up going with swords for season 3 because i burned myself out on 5s last season, and i really dont have time or coordination to keep a 1800+ 5s anymore.

^ meaning im gonna be focusing on 3s :P

Yeah, I like 3s this season because I don’t have to do as much organizing to actually play some rounds.

I’m hoping that making adjustments this season will definitely give us the edge we’ll need. I’ve been considering some sort of Holy/Ret hybrid as Paladin, but I’m having doubts making the switch. Maybe if I find enough convincing data, I’ll consider it. All for the better I hope.
