S2 ends positively. S3 opens strong.
World of Warcraft features an ongoing “Arena System” where teams can compete in a ladder-style competition for the much coveted “Gladiator” title. A quick recap of this season’s stats for my guild Ascent and myself:
S2 Stats
Toastedbagel hits 70.
Toastedbagel raids with Torment for a few weeks.
Toastedbagel leaves Torment.
Excellent runs 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 and does decently. (Ranging from 1905 2v2 to 2019 5v5)
Excellent achieves Duelist Rank (1996 in 3v3).
Excellent renames to Shinsoku.
S3 Stats
2v2 (Resto. Shaman and Sword Warrior)
2-0: 1531 Rating
3v3 (Resto. Shaman, Sword Warrior, and Holy Paladin)
30-18: 1686 Rating
5v5 (Resto. Shaman, Sword Warrior, Holy Paladin, Frost Mage, and Shadow Priest)
12-2: 1657 Rating
It was a pretty rough start for our 3v3. We were contending against many of the cookie cutter teams and even some Gladiator teams from last season. We did something different this season; we played more than our required ten matches and put in 48 matches for this week. This allowed us to get more pvp-oriented as well as helped us learn more about other team’s strategies. Being exposed to similiar teams repeatedly allowed us to quickly discover where our holes lay, and let us figure out how we can work on them.
Our 5v5 got a great start with 12-2, and we only had trouble with 4DPS teams. Unexpectedly, the Frost Mage we picked up (Draclau) turned out to be a great addition to the team. I initially had low expectations of him as he had only 1700 rated teams last season. I went on to tell other team members that Draclau is actually a high-potential player, and I look forward to playing him more often in the future.

I think you mean, “positively”!

Kevin, you know you want to play. In fact, you did play! But you went back to FFXI.
Mr. Hazard - DEOI rocked. If I could have a 130 DPS version of it, I’d use it.

I agree. The season started out pretty rough and initially I was skeptical myself, but with the recent turn of events, I am finding myself enjoying PVPing for the sake of PVPing. Our current performance is still a warm-up I think. If we hope to compete with the top teams, we’ll need to perfect our coordination more than anything else. Battleground performance is definately not equal to arena performance. I’m excited for the next couple of weeks.

Battleground performance isn’t going to be up to par unless you get a team bigger than 4 or 5 people to run regularly.
Also - If Eric is doing 2’s with The Crazzy (I’m assuming); who is Urrwin doing em with?

Oh, also. Josh just found 80 dollars in checks made out to me that I was unaware existed. I’m going to order a 2nd copy of WoW/TBC as soon as soon as I receive them in the mail.

In your S2 recap you forgot getting mid 1.8k on Toastedbagel with the best belt one can equip.
December 4th, 2007 at 1:17 pm
No. Let’s never speak about my old belt ever.
